Homework Assignment #4
You’re on your last day of the first 2 weeks of the Soccer Homework Pre-Season Workout Program.
As you go through this program and get more used to the format and training, make sure and adapt it to you as needed. Tailor the program to your specific needs.
For example, if you want to do more technical work – simply add a video to follow. Maybe add a move or fake.
Remember that this program is about you and for you. There are no right and wrong answers. What matters the most right now is that you show up and do the work. Do what’s comfortable and best for you. AND make it fun or reward yourself.

PSYCHOLOGICAL (PS) – Prepare Mentally
Read through the Soccer Homework Morning Routine for Athletes Worksheet . This player workbook will get your morning started out right.
The quote for the assignment is motivation for the entire length of the Homework Assignment. For you pre-season preparation this means that it will be either 1 or 2 weeks on the same quote(s). Come back to the quote for each assigned day. Be ready – each reading might present a new meaning, thought, or motivation! This is a good thing.
Now that you’ve had time to work out and work on your “map” – FINALIZE IT!
Write out your goals in a clean neat copy and put them where you can see them and read them everyday. You will want to review them each morning as you get up and each night before you go to bed.
Remember that these goals are there to keep you accountable. Pay attention to them and take them seriously. Because if you want anyone else to take you seriously, you must first take yourself seriously.
PHYSICAL (PH) – PREPARE PHYSICALLY
Follow the Workout:
Core Exercises. 25 Pushups and 25 Situps
1 mile or 1/2 mile Run. Get a warmup prior to starting. Make sure that the distance is age appropriate.
TECHNICAL (TS) – PREPARE WITH A BALL
Total Training Time is minimum 18 minutes. Follow the workout:
3 minutes – Juggling
7 minutes – Dribble Series
Use the full 7 minutes. That means doing each move at least 3 to 5 times. Do every move in the videos below.
3 minutes – 1 Fake or Turn
Either use the one below or go to Fakes or Turns and pick your own. Use the full 3 minutes to practice just the one move.
5 minutes – Shooting
TACTICAL (TA) – PREPARE TO PLAY
For this section you will need to go to the Positions page and find your position. Click on YOUR Position and study it!
